Wachovia Corp. and Genpact have signed an agreement for Genpact to establish an offshore operation to support Wachovia's business process outsourcing efforts. The seven-year arrangement will provide Wachovia access to Genpact's global operations and initially will be located in India. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Ahold USA, Inc. has engaged Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. as a primary services provider for in-store technology at Stop & Shop and Giant-Landover stores in the U.S. The five-year agreement covers nearly 600 stores and is valued at $65 million.
China Minsheng Banking Corporation Limited (CMBC), Accenture and SAP China, a subsidiary of SAP AG, announced an agreement to cooperate in building a world-class core banking system for CMBC. The agreement was formalized at a signing ceremony in Beijing, China. The implementation of the core banking solution by Accenture and SAP is part of the bank's efforts to transform its operations and prepare for future growth.
Branch Banking and Trust (BB&T) has deployed GXS Managed Services for the management of its B2B financial transactions. Complementing its existing payment services, BB&T's Treasury Management team is launching a highly-integrated electronic commerce solution using GXS Managed Services to exchange payables and receivables information with its business clients.
WMH Tool Group, a subsidiary of Walter Meier Holding AG and a leading manufacturer of tools, woodworking and metal processing products, has selected SPS’ software-as-a-service offering for its EDI needs, replacing its former EDI software solution. The hosted EDI service will be fully implemented by the end of November and integrated with WMH’s SAP R/3 system.
