EVEREST GROUP EXPANDS HR PRACTICE; ADDS KEY EXPERTS...Everest Group announced the expansion of its HR specialty practice to meet the growing demands of the HR outsourcing (HRO) marketplace and to accommodate the firm's rapid growth in this area. Three HR business process outsourcing experts - Marc Pramuk, Scott McNerney and Dwayne Fowler - recently joined Everest Group from Convergys, EquaTerra and Hewitt Associates, respectively, as HRO Specialists, augmenting the firm's high-powered, highly collaborative HRO consulting team.
PFSWEB ACQUIRES ECOST.COM...PFSweb, Inc. and eCOST.com, a leading online discount retailer, have signed a definitive merger agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, eCOST.com will become a wholly owned subsidiary of PFSweb, operating under the eCOST.com name and maintaining its headquarters in Torrance, California.

PAYCHEX COMPLETES KATRINA CHECK PROCESSING...Paychex, Inc. has now completed processing, printing and mailing hundreds of thousands of disaster relief checks for victims of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana. Paychex partnered with the American Red Cross and Hibernia National Bank, the largest banking organization in Louisiana, in this initiative to provide emergency funds to people affected by the disaster. During the six-week program, Paychex processed 271,099 disaster relief checks, totaling nearly $270 million.
