ADP NET UP 3% FOR SECOND QUARTER...Automatic Data Processing Inc. reported a 3% gain in its fiscal second-quarter profit with net income of $300.5 million, or 59 cents a share, compared with $291.2 million, or 55 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue was $2.2 billion, up slightly from $2.15 billion in the same period last year. Fiscal year-to-date, ADP acquired 11.1 million shares of its stock for treasury at a cost of over $450 million.

ENDESA SIGNS MAJOR DEAL WITH IBM...ENDESA and IBM have signed a seven-year 360 million Euro agreement for IBM to manage all the infrastructure and information technology (IT) solutions that ENDESA uses in Spain and Latin America. The agreement will allow Endesa an estimated cost saving of 20%. IBM will implement a unified global IT model for all the countries to help capitalize on its global scale to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and intensify its investments in core IT initiatives; create an IT platform prepared to immediately support their worldwide growth strategy; reduce the energy consumption of its IT platform in Latin America by around 50% and increase its security levels.

PEROT SYSTEMS EXPANDS IN ROMANIA...Perot Systems Corporation announced its expansion in Bucharest. The company sees Romania as a high-technology hub and a critical part of its integrated global delivery capabilities in EMEA. Perot Systems first established its presence in Romania in 2005, as part of the company’s global network of delivery centers. Today, 70% of the work undertaken by the Romanian team supports US-based clients with 24-hour operations, and 30% of the services support EMEA clients.
