ACCENTURE WINS MULTI-YEAR IT DEAL FROM EUROPEAN UNION...The Taxation and Customs Union Directorate General (DG TAXUD) has awarded Accenture an IT systems management and development contract to support the European Commission's CUST-DEV2 program, which is designed to introduce a harmonized, centralized and paperless customs system (eCustoms) across the EU by 2013. The three-year contract is valued at approximately EUR 49.3 million, with the option for two one-year extensions. Accenture will manage the existing customs systems at DG TAXUD as well as the specifications of the Trans-European Systems. Additionally, Accenture will work with DG TAXUD on the development and management of new customs applications and systems in the scope of the eCustoms initiative. Accenture will draw on its extensive experience working with customs agencies around the world and its High Performance Customs framework to support the program.

UNISYS NET UP IN SECOND QUARTER...Unisys Corporation reported second-quarter 2010 net income of $120.2 million, or $2.77 per diluted share, compared with net income of $38.1 million, or $1.02 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. The current quarter results include a pre-tax gain of approximately $65 million related to the sale of the company's health information management (HIM) business. Second-quarter 2010 net income from continuing operations increased to $59.4 million, or $1.37 per diluted share, from $33.5 million, or 90 cents per diluted share, in the year-ago period. Operating results of the HIM business, and the gain on the sale, are being reported as a discontinued operation. Revenue in the second quarter of 2010 declined 4 percent (2 percent excluding divested businesses) to $1.06 billion compared with $1.10 billion in the year-ago quarter. Revenue declined 5 percent (3 percent excluding divested businesses) on a constant currency basis.

CERIDIAN NAMES NEW CEO...Ceridian Corporation has named Stuart C. Harvey, Jr. its Chief Executive Officer, effective August 16, 2010. Harvey was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Elavon, Inc., a global payment solutions organization and subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp. Prior to joining Elavon, he was a managing director with the investment banking firm of Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis. He is also a former practicing attorney having worked previously with two Chicago-based law firms. Harvey joined Elavon (formerly NOVA Information Systems) in April 2003.

New Business

Capgemini, one of the world's leading providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, announced the signing of two long-term contract renewals with General Motors Holdings, LLC (GM) to provide application outsourcing services for GM's Global Sales & Marketing and Dealer Systems by Capgemini America Inc. The combined value of the 5-year agreements is approximately $250 million. Capgemini started delivering services to GM under the new agreements from July 2010, one year ahead of the end of the previous contract term. The original contracts between GM and Capgemini were effective June 2006. Under the new contracts, Capgemini will provide global Application Sustain and Development Services as well as Help Desk Support for GM's global Sales & Marketing and Dealer Systems located in 38 countries, as well as Hosting services for Test and Development Servers.

BancTec, Inc., a global provider of advanced, high-volume, document and payment processing solutions and services, announced that British Airways (BA) has selected it for a major engineering record management effort, expected to last initially for three years. In total, BancTec's business process outsourcing (BPO) division will scan approximately 65 million engineering records for BA, providing the airline with significant added business value and cost savings.

ExlService Holdings, Inc.,a leading provider of outsourcing and transformation services, announced the signing of a multi-year contract with Petrogas, the largest independent operator of the Applegreen chain of service stations in Ireland. Under thw agreement, EXL will provide finance and accounting services to Petrogas and manage the entire finance and accounting operations from its service delivery centre in a special economic zone in Noida, India. Petrogas will gain the flexibility and scalability to continue its expansion in Ireland and the UK with a more focused approach and greater force.

Accenture has signed a multi-year application services agreement with Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, a member of the Sun Life Financial group of companies, to develop, implement and manage a variety of applications that support the insurer's operations in Canada. The agreement is designed to help Sun Life Financial improve service for its customers and to enhance overall information technology (IT) and operational efficiencies.
